Exclusive: Braun Enterprises Under Contract on Galleria Office Building

The Houston-based developer, which is known for buying older inner-Loop properties and developing them into viable mixed-use projects, is under contract to buy a 160,000-square-foot office building near the Galleria Mall, Dan Braun told the Houston Business Journal. There's a 30,000-square-foot vacancy in the property over four contiguous floors; Braun said the company will develop creative office space in that chunk of space and lease to small companies.

The proprietor of a popular Washington Avenue late night spot has a plan to deliver a new twist on one of the city’s favorite dishes.

Ninja Ramen owner Christopher Huang has signed a lease to bring a new pho restaurant to the Braun Enterprises-owned Ella Plaza shopping center in Garden Oaks that's home to The Union Kitchen. Called Flying Pho, the restaurant will open in December in the space formerly occupied by shuttered bagel shop Toasted.

Dallas Seafood Boil Spot Shell Shack Is En Route to Houston

Over the next few years, Dallas’ based chain Shell Shack will bring its take on the Cajun seafood boil to Houston. 

The restaurant will pair with a franchisee called Houston Shellfish Ventures to bring multiple locations of Shell Shack to Houston in the next few years. Shell Shack president and CEO Dallas Hale tells Eater that the first outpost, which will open at 2412 Washington Avenue, is already under construction. A second outpost is also expected to arrive soon in Katy, though no location has been selected yet.

Houston-based Braun Enterprises is launching a new redevelopment project just west of T.C. Jester Boulevard in the Heights. 

The developer, which often acquires older inner-Loop buildings and flips them into viable retail and restaurant developments, will break ground on Grove Heights this week. The retail development, at 1900 W. 18th St., has nabbed leases from Colorado-based Sola Salon Studios and New York-based I Love Kickboxing, Wolf said.
