Hughie's Heights to take over former Foreign Correspondents space

Hughie's Tavern & Vietnamese Grille has secured a lease in the space previously occupied by Foreign Correspondents restaurant for a second location.

The new venue, Hughie's Heights, will open in 4,742-square-foot space 4721 N. Main the end of the second quarter, according to NewQuest Properties.

"We had been quietly looking around when this opportunity came up. We worked pretty quickly to lock it down," Austen Baldridge, an associate with Houston-based NewQuest Properties said in an announcement.

The restaurant, which will serve Vietnamese cuisine with an American twist, craft beers and cocktails, had been searching for a spot in close-in neighborhoods with similar demographics to its Lazybrook/Timbergrove location. It caters to young, family-oriented customers seeking quality food and good prices drink selections, according to NewQuest Properties.

Zach Wolf represented the landlord Braun Enterprises, which renovated the shopping center in 2015.

Foreign Correspondents, part of the Treadsack group of restaurants, had earned national recognition as a top Thai restaurant before closing in December.
